Ezinwa Magnus Obi
Managing Director
He is a seasoned banker with nearly two decades experience. His banking career spans across Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Private Banking, Retail and Consumer Banking, as well as SME desks of several indigenous banks, within the middle and senior management positions. He rose through the ranks, contributing to the growth of many financial institutions, at branch management and regional management levels.
Very cerebral, analytical and result-oriented, Mr. Obi is grounded in risk management, credit analysis, international trade, treasury operations, financial markets, project financing, microfinancing, as well as strategic management, leadership, capacity building, business communication, customer relationship management, branding development, product development…etc. He is also involved in various youths’ mentorship and career development programmes. In recognition of his achievements in the banking industry and contributions to humanity in general, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in October, 2004, honoured him with the Distinguished Alumnus Award, in recognition of his various achievements in these areas. He has also received other awards from various organisations.
Until his appointment as the Managing Director of BC Kash Microfinance Bank in 2019, Mr. Obi was the Deputy Managing Director/Chief Operations Officer of Possibility Fund Ltd, where he contributed in repositioning the organisation to the path of growth and profitability. He is also a financial/management consultant and life coach. He holds two Master’s degrees as well other professional qualifications.
BAMGBOLA OJO
Head, Credit and Risk Management
Bamgbola Ojo can be described as Mr Microfinance having spent his entire career in Microfinance and has touched all departments of the industry. He is a top-performing professional with over 14 years progressive experience in the banking industry. He has a proven history of establishing valuable relationship with clients and has served in various capacities in the Microfinance Industry including Banking Operations, Internal Audit, Credit Advisor and Recovery Officer.
He has worked with the Nigeria Agricultural and Cooperative Bank (NACB), Jimete –Yola, Havilah Microfinance Bank Limited, Providence Mirofinance Bank Limited, FFS Microfinance Bank Limited, and FBN Microfinance Bank Limited.
Bamgbola Ojo holds a Post–Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, and Higher National Diploma in Banking and Finance. He is an Associate member, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Associate member Risk Managers Association of Nigeria (RIMAN), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) U.K, and a qualified Microfinance Practitioner.
Jacob Whesu
Head, Internal Audit and Compliance
Jacob Whesu heads Internal control and Audit department responsible for internal control, Audit and
compliance functions of the bank
Jacob Whesu is a graduate of Economics from Lagos state university with a second class upper
division obtained in 1991/92 session. He started his career with a brief stint in consulting at Olusola
Faleye and associates where he spent about a year. He went on thereafter to spend 24 years in
Banking with experiences in Trade finance, Treasury operations, Domestic Operations, Branch
management, commercial Banking, Internal Control and Audit, a journey that crisscrossed five different
banks (Universal Trust Bank, National Bank of Nigeria Ltd, First Bank of Nigeria plc, Oceanic Bank
International and Ecobank of Nigeria Ltd).
Jacob is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He is also a member of
Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), Chicago, USA having garnered the
certified information system audit (CISA) certification since 2010.
OLUFISAYO OLAYINKA
Head, Accounts
Olufisayo Derunke Olayinka, a distinction graduate of Osun State College of Technology has over 8 years of experience in finance Administration.
She started her career with BC Kash Cooperative Finance and Investment Society Limited as an Account Officer. Due to her diligence and loyalty at work, she was transferred to Sango Ota as a manager in the year 2011. Thereafter, she was moved to Abeokuta branch in the year 2012 to reorganize the branch. She was later transferred back to account department in the head office where she became the Head of Accounts assisting the Finance Director. In this capacity, she supervised the work of over 140 account officers from the branches who reported to her. Her ability to multi-task and take up new challenges has made her an invaluable asset to our organization.
She joined BC Kash Microfinance Bank as Associate Head of Account in February, 2017 and took over fully as Head of Accounts and Finance August, 2017.
She is a student member of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
ELIZABETH OVUIKE
Head, Operations
Elizabeth Ovuike, described in BC Kash as Madam Daring, started her career as the Personal Assistant to the MD at PROSHARE. From there she went into hospitality with De Skyline Hotel where she rendered her services as the Front Desk Officer and later Supervisor. She decided to grow her career in the financial industry where she started as the Treasury Officer in Rosabon Financial Services.
She moved from Rosabon to BC Kash Microfinance Bank and started her banking career as Team Lead, Customer Service. She is presently the Head of Operations in BC Kash Microfinance Bank.
Elizabeth Ovuike is an Education Economist graduate of Imo State University. A member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM) also a member of Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (CIPM).
As the Head of Operations, Elizabeth Ovuike is responsible for driving and coordinating operation activities of the bank.
OKECHUKWU ENWEREUZOR
Head, Information Technology
Okechukwu Enwereuzor is an energetic, well-spoken and capable Network Administrator who is an expert at connecting different devices together to form fast and efficient networks. He enjoys working on all IT related issues, and has extensive experience of resolving hardware, software and network malfunctions. In his current role, he works with the rest of the team to ensure the successful delivery and operation of all supported services.
He joined BC Kash Microfinance Bank in 2016 as the Network Administrator and rose to the position of Head of IT. He is responsible for performing a wide range of network administration duties including installations, debugging, maintenance and upgrades.
He also worked with BC Kash Cooperative Finance and Investment Society Ltd as the Network Administrator from 2011 to 2014 before he left for his post graduate studies.
He is CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certified and he is also a member of Nigeria Institute of Management.
Okechukwu graduated from University of Northumbria at Newcastle, United Kingdom in 2016 with an Msc in Renewable and Sustainable Energy Technologies. He also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Astronomy from University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
BONIFACE MADUAWUCHI AKALAZU
Head, Business Development
Boniface Maduawuchi Akalazu is a seasoned banker with over 17 years of experience garnered from working in various commercial banks like, First Atlantic Bank, FirstInland Bank Plc, Finbank Plc and First City Monument Bank (FCMB).
Within these years, he held various positions from Branch Manager to Area Executive, with over six branches reporting to him. As an Area Executive, he was a member of the Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) in Finbank Plc and also represented FESTAC Area at other top Executive Management meetings of the Bank. His area of experience covers commercial banking, retail banking and consumer banking, where he has headed credit and marketing desk, and other units.
Mr. Akalazu holds a Master of Science (M.Sc) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Degrees in Banking and Finance from University of Ibadan and Imo State University respectively. He is also a student member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
He is currently the Head of Business Development in BC Kash Microfinance Bank Limited.
AKUNNE UCHE GERALD
Head, Service Management and Strategy
Akunne, Uche Gerald is a 1994 graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University and holds a Bachelor of
Science degree in Political Science. He has 25 years post graduate experience; Gerald has traversed
through Hospitality, Cooperative, Investment and Microfinance banking sectors. He also had a stint with
ICT as an internet service retailer.
He is grounded in microfinance business with over 8 years’ experience in cooperative financing. Within
the 8 years span, while in the employment of BC Kash Cooperative Finance and Investment Society
Ltd, Gerald rose progressively from the position of an Account Officer to Accounts Supervisor, Account
Manager and Deputy Chief Accountant. He later veered into Marketing to become a Branch Manager
and rose to the position of a Group Manager and subsequently becoming the Chief Operations Officer
to the second largest Cooperative in the country in terms of membership strength.
Gerald also worked with Possibility Fund Limited, an investment finance company located in Lagos. He
held the position of Business Development Manager.
He has wealth of experience in hotel management. For a combined period of 8 years, he worked for
Land Park Hotels Ltd and Million Dollar Hotels Ltd both in Lagos as the Administration Manager.
With experience in human relations management garnered as a hotel manager, direct and practical
experience in microfinance business in cooperative as well as knowledge in Finance investment as a
fund manager, Gerald is currently the Head, Service Management and Strategy with BC Kash
Microfinance Bank Ltd Lagos. His presence in the Management Team adds to the hospitable and
excellent service delivery enjoyed by both the internal and external customers of the Bank.
