Managing Director/CEO
Ezinwa Magnus Obi graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) in 1998 with First Class Honours, emerging the best student in both the department and the faculty.
He is a seasoned banker with over a two-decade experience. His banking career spans Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Commercial Banking, Private Banking, Retail and Consumer Banking, as well as SME desks of several indigenous banks, within the middle and senior management positions. He rose through the ranks, contributing to the growth of many financial institutions, at branch management and regional management levels.
Until his appointment as the Managing Director of BC Kash Microfinance Bank in 2019, Dr. Obi was the Deputy Managing Director/Chief Operations Officer of Possibility Fund Ltd, where he contributed in repositioning the organisation to the path of growth and profitability. He is also a financial/management consultant and life coach. A national award winner of the prestigious Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Dr. Obi is also a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants (FIMC) and holds two Masters as well other professional qualifications. He bagged his doctorate degree in 2024 from the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State.
Very cerebral, analytical and result-oriented, Dr. Obi is grounded in risk management, credit analysis, international trade, treasury operations, financial markets, project financing, microfinancing, customer relationship management, business communication, as well as strategic management, leadership, capacity building, brand and product development...etc. He is also involved in various youths’ mentorship and career development programmes, as well as empowerment/poverty alleviation programmes. In recognition of his achievements in the banking industry and contributions to humanity in general, the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, in 2004, honoured him with the Distinguished Alumnus Award, in appreciation of his various achievements in these areas. He has also received other awards from various organisations.
Head, Credit and Risk Management
Bamgbola Ojo can be described as Mr Microfinance having spent his entire career in Microfinance and has touched all departments of the industry. He is a top-performing professional with over 14 years progressive experience in the banking industry. He has a proven history of establishing valuable relationship with clients and has served in various capacities in the Microfinance Industry including Banking Operations, Internal Audit, Credit Advisor and Recovery Officer. He has worked with the Nigeria Agricultural and Cooperative Bank (NACB), Jimete –Yola, Havilah Microfinance Bank Limited, Providence Mirofinance Bank Limited, FFS Microfinance Bank Limited, and FBN Microfinance Bank Limited.
Bamgbola Ojo holds a Post–Graduate Diploma in Financial Management from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi, and Higher National Diploma in Banking and Finance. He is an Associate member, Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Associate member Risk Managers Association of Nigeria (RIMAN), Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) U.K, and a qualified Microfinance Practitioner.
Head, Service Management and Strategy
Akunne, Uche Gerald is a 1994 graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. He has 25 years post graduate experience; Gerald has traversed through Hospitality, Cooperative, Investment and Microfinance banking sectors. He also had a stint with ICT as an internet service retailer.
He is grounded in microfinance business with over 8 years experience in cooperative financing. Within the 8 years span, while in the employment of BC Kash Cooperative Finance and Investment Society Ltd, Gerald rose progressively from the position of an Account Officer to Accounts Supervisor, Account Manager and Deputy Chief Accountant. He later veered into Marketing to become a Branch Manager and rose to the position of a Group Manager and subsequently becoming the Chief Operations Officer to the second largest Cooperative in the country in terms of membership strength.
Gerald also worked with Possibility Fund Limited, an investment finance company located in Lagos. He held the position of Business Development Manager. He has wealth of experience in hotel management. For a combined period of 8 years, he worked for Land Park Hotels Ltd and Million Dollar Hotels Ltd both in Lagos as the Administration Manager.
With experience in human relations management garnered as a hotel manager, direct and practical experience in microfinance business in cooperative as well as knowledge in Finance investment as a fund manager, Gerald is currently the Head, Service Management and Strategy with BC Kash Microfinance Bank Ltd Lagos. His presence in the Management Team adds to the hospitable and excellent service delivery enjoyed by both the internal and external customers of the Bank. Gerald is a Member Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. (MCIBN)
Head, Business Development
Boniface Maduawuchi Akalazu is a seasoned banker with over 18 years experience garnered from working in some Commercial Banks like, First Atlantic Bank, FirstInland Bank Plc, Finbank Plc and First City Monument Bank (FCMB). Within these years, he held various positions from Branch Manager to Area Executive, with about six branches reporting to him. As an Area Executive, he was a member of the Asset and Liability Committee (ALCO) in Finbank Plc and also represented FESTAC Area at other top Executive Management meetings of the Bank.
His area of experience covers commercial banking, retail banking and consumer banking where he has headed credit and marketing desk and other units. Others include: risk analysis, financial performance analysis and forecasting, writing feasibility reports for new branch locations among others.
Mr Akalazu holds a Master of Science (M.Sc) and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Degrees in Banking and Finance from University of Ibadan and Imo State University respectively. He is also a student member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria. He is currently the Head of Business Development in BC Kash Micro Finance Bank Limited. Mr Akalazu is a member of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (MCIBN).
Head, Internal Audit and Compliance
Jacob Whesu heads Internal control and Audit department responsible for internal control, Audit and compliance functions of the bank .Jacob Whesu is a graduate of Economics from Lagos state university with a second class upper division obtained in 1991/92 session. He started his career with a brief stint in consulting at Olusola Faleye and associates where he spent about a year.
He went on thereafter to spend 24 years in Banking with experiences in Trade finance, Treasury operations, Domestic Operations, Branch management, commercial Banking, Internal Control and Audit, a journey that crisscrossed five different banks (Universal Trust Bank, National Bank of Nigeria Ltd, First Bank of Nigeria plc, Oceanic Bank International and Ecobank of Nigeria Ltd). Jacob is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). He is also a member of Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), Chicago, USA having garnered the certified information system audit (CISA) certification since 2010.
Head, ICT & E-Channels
Okechukwu Enwereuzor is a dynamic and results-driven ICT professional with deep expertise in network administration and digital channel support. As Head of ICT & E-Channels at BC Kash Microfinance Bank, he leads the Bank’s technology infrastructure and ensures the seamless delivery and operation of all IT and e-channel services.
Okechukwu began his journey with BC Kash Microfinance Bank in 2016 as a Network Administrator, quickly earning recognition for his technical proficiency and leadership. His strong track record of resolving complex hardware, software, and network issues led to his promotion as Head of IT, where he currently oversees the Bank’s end-to-end ICT operations, including installations, system upgrades, maintenance, and cybersecurity.
Before joining the Bank, he served as Network Administrator at BC Kash Cooperative Finance and Investment Society Ltd from 2011 to 2014. He then proceeded to the United Kingdom to pursue his postgraduate studies. Okechukwu holds an MSc in Renewable and Sustainable Energy Technologies from the University of Northumbria at Newcastle, United Kingdom, and a B.Sc. in Physics and Astronomy from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), a certified Microfinance Banker (MCIB), and a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM). He is passionate about leveraging technology to drive financial inclusion, enhance operational efficiency, and support the Bank’s mission of delivering innovative and customer-centric financial solutions.
Head of Operations
Chinwe Favour Nwagbara is a seasoned banker with over 15 years of experience pulled together from working in various commercial banks like, First Atlantic Bank, First Inland Bank Plc, Finbank Plc, First City Monument Bank (FCMB) and Union Bank Plc.
Within these years, she has worked in various capacities ranging from Customer Service Officer, Client Relationship Manager to Superintendent of Banking Operations for exceptional Service Delivery. Her core competencies include strong qualitative and analytical skills, motivational leadership, multitasking, excellent relationship management and strong interpersonal skills, good team player and very customer centric.
In the course of her career, Chinwe has also handled the following responsibilities: partnering with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure business transactions are well routed and properly attended to; ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory recommendations, policies and guidelines; oversight for the approval of all processed domestic and international payments; facility and vendor quality management like bank assets security, vendor performance and control of operational expenses among others.
Chinwe holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelor of Science (BSc) Degrees in Finance and Accountancy from University of Leicester, United Kingdom and Abia State University respectively. She is also a student member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria.
She is a very talented and vibrant young lady with great innovative ideas, excellent communication and people’s skills and a delight to work with.
Head, FINCON
Otugeme Jennifer Oluchi is a graduate of Adekunle Ajasin University and holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) degree in Accounting with over 12 years’ experience in finance and administration. She started her career with BC Kash Cooperative Finance and Investment Society Limited as an Account Officer where she rose through the ranks to become a Profit Centre Manager.
Her ability to multi-task and take up new challenges has made her an invaluable asset to the organization. She is currently the Head of FINCON, in BC Kash Micro Finance Bank Limited. Jennifer who is also an associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) is a very talented and vibrant young lady with great innovative ideas, excellent communication and peoples skills and a delight to work with.
Branch Manager, Head Office
Mrs Uche Olive Lilian Ikedionwu is an experienced banker, she started her banking career in 2006 with Commercial banks where she rose through the ranks and managed many branches of banks. In 2018, she resigned from Keystone Bank after managing the Onitsha Bridge Head Branch and became the First Executive Secretary of Women In Finance Nigeria (WIFng) where she served for two years before joining BC Kash Microfinance Bank in 2020.
She holds a B.A, M.A and is a member of Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (MCIBN). Presently she is a Senior Manager and the Head Office Branch Manager of BC Kash Microfinance Bank. She is happily married with children.
